About me

Web Developer for hire
This is me, web and software developer, Alyssa Videlock! I've worked a small litany of jobs throught my career, with many different people. I work well with both small and large teams, adjusting my attitude and schedule to best suit the needs of the group as a whole. Not only do I enjoy working on problems presented to me, but overcoming them is the best feeling ever. I also have some experience with SEO.

I love the idea of learning new things and meeting new people. I make friends quickly and pick up on things even faster. I make sure to put all of my attention towards the task at hand and not stop until the project is completed to it's best.

I have also worked on many different projects; some of which are shown below. I come from a diverse work background; family-owned businesses and small companies alike. In these work places I had to learn many different positions, like front and back end developement, SEO manager, web designer and even data manager. All of these positions have given me a unique perspective on the world of development and allow me to overcome obstacles in completely different ways.

Larvel and other frameworks are amazingly handy and I've used a fair amount of them.
  • HTML5

I've been learning HTML since way back when I used notepad for coding.
  • CSS3

A fundamental block of design and something that every developer needs to know.
  • SCSS & LESS

Programatic CSS is the greatest thing to have happened to CSS. I've been working with this for a long time now and have improved greatly.
  • Javascript & ES6

One of the best scripting languages that just keeps getting better. I started with the basics and Jquery, and I've been learning ES6 recently.
  • PHP

The fastest server side language to get a project up and running. This is the most used skill I have.
  • C#

One of the first programming languages I learned and something that holds a place in the heart of how I program.
  • SQL

Database languages are both easy and incredibly powerful. Learning how to use them is one of the most important things every developer should do.
  • Java

A language that I've quickly picked up due to knowledge of other languages. It's uses are great but I haven't had much time to get familiar with it.
  • React

Been using this since I'm a kid. I have a complete understanding of how to use this OS and how to troubleshoot it.
  • Mac OSX+

Picked this up in my design days in college since everyone used it. Incredibly easy thanks to how user friendly the environment is.
  • Ubuntu

Probably the least stressful version of linux I've used. I have some experience in other distros, but this one is very handy to know.
  • Visual Studio 2008

Used this in college a lot and haven't picked it up in awhile. I still have knowledge on how to use it however.
  • Unity

I've used this for many tiny projects that haven't seen the light of day in a long time.
  • Flash

The first thing I learned in college. It's not used much anymore, for good reason, but it has it's place for animators and small indie games.
  • Photoshop & Illustrator

Photoshop and Illustrator are probably the best tools for editing and refining images, text and way way more. I've used it since I first started in development.
  • Maya

A 3D program I've used for modeling assets for classes and personal projects.
  • Intellij IDEA

My first true IDE that I've used. This is the environment I was using for learning Java.
