About me

This is me, web and software developer, Alyssa Videlock! I've worked a small litany of jobs throught my career, with many different people. I work well with both small and large teams, adjusting my attitude and schedule to best suit the needs of the group as a whole. Not only do I enjoy working on problems presented to me, but overcoming them is the best feeling ever. I also have some experience with SEO.
I love the idea of learning new things and meeting new people. I make friends quickly and pick up on things even faster. I make sure to put all of my attention towards the task at hand and not stop until the project is completed to it's best.
I have also worked on many different projects; some of which are shown below. I come from a diverse work background; family-owned businesses and small companies alike. In these work places I had to learn many different positions, like front and back end developement, SEO manager, web designer and even data manager. All of these positions have given me a unique perspective on the world of development and allow me to overcome obstacles in completely different ways.

Project Showcase
-
Central Reservations
Main developer behind this wordpress powered website. Everything was designed from the ground up with a custom plugin that interfaces with the barefoot web api to obtain available properties and sell them. -
Dynatex International
Custom video and a custom CMS built entirely for their product catalogue. -
Embajador Tequila
A fun project that let me explore new design opportunities. Custom menu, custom CMS, with a design implemented by me. This provided unique challenges in the way I explored design, since I worked directly with the designer for a lot of what went into the website. -
The Fitness Connection
Half Wordpress and half Magento build, with a wordpress theme built from the ground up to use a completely different architecture from a typical Wordpress build. -
Monte Carlo Oceanfront
A single page parallax wordpress website. Heavily customised wordpress install using a prebuilt wordpress theme. -
CoxReels
Completely custom CMS, with a completely custom search tool that used a series of regex and mysql commands to find the correct reels for the end user. My last, biggest and most fun project to work on at BX3. It used a bunch of new css and js techniques for the time and was very well designed. -
Sellers & Associates
A realty site built on top of a custom CMS that uses a completely custom search engine to search through the properties.
Work and College Experience
-
Cybermark International
I worked here for about 3 months. During those months I learned a lot of the basic skills I would then apply to future projects. I never produced my own projects here, but I learned a lot about Regex, CSS, PHP, SQL, SEO and a lot more! -
BX3 Interactive
For over a year I worked tirelessly creating and editing websites using custom CMS's built on PHP and SQL databases. It was a small company and we all wore many different hats throughout the development project. It wasn't unexpected for me to help with designing, talking to customers, build a database structure or create entirely new projects on my own. I parted ways on good terms with them to get back on the eastern coast of the United States. -
D3Corp
Working here was one of the best experiences in my work career so far. I learned a lot about git and so many other development processes. I wore a lot of hats here as well, ranging from SEO specialist to main developer. Work was always fast and forethcoming and I was always kept busy. The team was comfortable and friendly and we all got along rather well. -
Suffolk County Community College
My first college experience, where I learned design skills that has given me a keen eye on color composition, spacing and more. I also got into programming here first, with computer math and basic flash programming. -
Rochester Institute of Technology
I loved this university. The diversity in students coupled with the care and attention from the professors truly shined through. I learned so much about programming and development here and it kicked off my career into web development.
